File Protection and Track Details

To make sure the audio and information we send to streaming platforms are always perfectly accurate, we use a helpful feature called File Protection.

How It Works

An audio file or artwork in your Library becomes Protected the moment it is attached to a release that has been submitted for review or is already live.

What Happens When a File is Protected?

• Safe & Secure: You cannot rename, replace, or delete the file from your Library while it is protected. This prevents accidental changes to live music!
• Protected Information: Crucial track details (like the ISRC, song duration, explicit tags, language, genres, and linked artists) attached to a protected audio file cannot be changed.
• Reusing Audio: If you decide to include a protected audio file in a new release (for example, adding a previously released single to a new album), all of its details will automatically carry over. You won't be able to edit this information on the new release, ensuring your catalog stays perfectly consistent everywhere.

Unprotecting Files

If your release is withdrawn from review or if our team asks you to make some adjustments, the files exclusively used in that release will be unprotected. You can then easily edit or replace them before resubmitting.

(Note: If a file is also being used in another release that is currently in review or already live, it will stay protected to keep that release safe.)
